A LOOK BACK

Bold. Curious. Innovative. Our students are at the center of the work we do. It is their eagerness to learn that encourages us to continue building their confidence, providing STEM experiences, and developing their creative awareness. This past year was no different, in fact, it proved to be deeply impactful. To learn more about the work we did, and our plans for the future, read our Annual Report.

Annual Report
Spoiler Alert! We had a great time hosting Girls Rise Up, our three-week summer program. Girls from all over NYC joined us to learn how to write code, create movement, and think creatively. Continue reading for more details.

OUR COMMUNITY

Girls Rise Up
During Girls Rise Up, students worked together in small groups to conceptualized tech projects, develop movement, and learn the technical skills necessary to bring their creations to life. Some groups created wearable tech, such as the light-up masks pictured above. Others designed and coded projections, to serve as a backdrop for their choreography (bottom right). Most importantly, all the girls learned the opportunities available to them in the STEM workforce.

“I learned that I'm actually good at STEM. These 3 weeks introduced me to some great people and showed me more options for my career choice.”

- Celine, Girls Rise Up Student

BRING THE SHOW TO YOU

Hosting an event? Want to spark curiosity in young minds? Book our Performance Troupe to perform a tech-infused dance routine for your guests. The Troupe consists of former Girls Rise Up participants, who can speak to the engineering process, coding, dancing, and their own experiences with STEM.

If you are interested in booking the Performance Troupe for an event email us at info@stemfromdance.org.
